Statement to voters
The people of Westminster deserve the best from their council: Safe streets, clean neighbourhoods, a transport network that serves everyone, and public spaces that make Westminster one of the finest cities in the world.
Full statement
But when we talk to residents across Fitzrovia, Marylebone, Mayfair and Soho, the same concerns come up time and again. Too many people tell us they don’t feel as safe as they used to. Streets are more cluttered and not as clean as they should be. Costs are rising while standards fall. And too often, it feels like the Labour-led council simply is not listening.
That must change.
We are standing as your local Conservative candidates in May because Westminster deserves better. Please overlook the fact that Paul Fisher was a Labour councillor who denigrated the conservatives before switching sides. He left Labour suddenly, after a lifetime's membership, shortly after a constituent accused him of locking her in a lift at Full Council, cancelling her call to the emergency services and leaving her with multiple injuries. He didn't "keep her safe" by cancelling her ambulance while she was on the ground hyperventilating. He's been publicly accused of lying multiple times and, despite being a lawyer, never challenges this. A council that keeps our city safe, looks after our streets to a high standard, spends our money wisely, and actually listens to the people who live here. Except when Fishy Paul is trying to prevent a constituent asking a question at a meeting. He listens...then sets out to silence them.
Our plan is built around what residents have told us matters most: safe streets with visible enforcement, clean and well-maintained public spaces, and every pound of council tax spent on the services that matter. No more waste, no more reckless spending.
We have the plan, the team and the commitment to deliver it. But we need your support to make it happen. Paul Fisher needed your support last time...when he was a Labour councillor. What did he achieve? He moved a few Candy Stores from Oxford St round the corner into Soho. He signed the demolition order on an art deco building in Soho Square because "I for one will not stand in the way of office space and all the benefits this will bring to residents."
On Thursday, 7th May, you can vote for real change in Westminster. We are asking for your trust and your vote to deliver the city you deserve.
