She is known for being on top of casework, responding quickly and following issues through to resolution. She carries out regular walkabouts, home visits, and works closely with council teams, housing officers and police to tackle issues such as waste, housing repairs, parking and anti-social behaviour. Juna lives in Blakelaw, and her sons attend a local primary school, giving her a strong personal connection to the area. In 2021, she founded Clean Community, Clean World, a weekly litter-picking initiative bringing together families, schools and residents. Alongside her councillor role, Juna is an award-winning scientist and Associate Professor at Northumbria University, Newcastle. Known for being approachable and responsive, she focuses on practical action and getting results. She continues working with residents to make Blakelaw, Cowgate and North Fenham cleaner, greener and safer.
