Statement to voters
I live and work locally in Exeter and I'm fed up seeing Labours damaging incompetence nationally and locally make a mess of things.
Full statement
Locally Labour councillors have voted to close public toilets and allow playgrounds to deteriorate, all whilst having one of the worst recycling rates in the South West and also saddling Exeter City residents with over £IOO million of debt. Then, after hiking parking charges, they are closing roads all over the city causing disruption and pollution. Conservative run councils run better services with less cost. Birmingham is a classic an example.
If elected I will be campaigning for the basic stuff people want, public toilets to be re-opened; the budget for parks, playgrounds and green spaces to be increased, more bins for dog-poo and litter, to introduce glass recycling. Cycling routes should be increased, but not by closing off roads, Low Traffic Neighbourhoods LTN’s should be only allowed if the MAJORITY of residence want it, and not imposed by councillors that don’t feel the adverse affects.
Lets do what the Exeter and Devon public want, not what the ideological left think they want!
